Yadgir District Administration Issues Flood-Alert | There is the possibility of releasing water from the Krishana and Bhima rivers. From Krishana 2,30,000 cusec and from Bhima 13,000 cusec.  

Storage of water at Hattikuni Dam is nearing full of its capacity.

  Pic: etv bharat Farmers in the downstream of Hattikuni Dam in Hattikuni village in Yadgir district are happy as the dam has been seeing remarkable increase in water storage in the last couple of days. The water storage in the dam stood at 0.305 tmcft against a total capacity of 0.352 tmcft. The dam was constructed across a stream flowing from atop the hills in the surrounding areas of the village to provide irrigation to 5,300 acres of dry land in Hattikuni, Yaddalli, Bandalli, Honagera, Katagi- Shahapur, and Dasarabad villages. Farmers grow groundnut, paddy, cotton, jowar, bajra, and other crops using water released from the dam. They can make use of water stored now in the dam to irrigate their crops till the end of next summer. “Water level reached almost the full capacity of the dam during August and September last year. But, this time the dam has seen early a huge quantum of water flowing owing to copious rainfall in the catchment areas in the last couple of days,” a farmer said

Foodgrains released for Yadgir

Pic: narendramodi.in Foodgrains for July underneath the general public distribution system (PDS) and Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKY) have been released for Yadgir district, Deputy Commissioner R. Ragapriya has stated.  In a launch right here on Wednesday, Dr. Ragapriya said that 15 kg rice and 20 kg jowar every for 29,262 Antyodaya Yojana cardholders adopted by 2 kg rice and three kg jowar every for 8,50,245 BPL cardholders and a pair of kg wheat every for 2,33,865 APL cardholders shall be distributed underneath PDS.  And, 5 kg rice every for 1,18,856 Antyodaya Yojana cardholders and 5 kg rice every for 8,50,245 BPL playing cards holders shall be distributed underneath PMGKY. She said that single and greater than two members of non-priority households may get 5 kg and 10 kg rice every, respectively, by paying ₹15 per kg. Source: The Hindu
